We all know exercise is vital for good health.
Unfortunately many of us are sitting more and more everyday, whether that be at work or at home. If you happen to be over 40 it’s especially important to either start or step up your exercise programme. This is the time of life when your physical strength, stamina, balance and flexibility start to decline.
Medical experts say inactivity poses as great a health risk as smoking, contributing to heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, depression, arthritis and osteoporosis. This is what is meant by the phrase 'sitting is the new smoking'.
A growing body of research is showing that regular exercise can boost your body's immune system, to help fight off cancer, viruses and bacteria.
So what do you need to do?
We challenge you to incorporate 20-30 minutes of exercise per day. Ideally something that gets your heart beating as fast as possible. Push yourself.
Remember, the more you move, the better your brain can work and send signals to your organs, muscles and joints, meaning less pain, more energy and no limitations.
90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by the movement of the spine.
